Family.me will finally be releasing the first public version of the site next week at RootsTech 2015! Check back with us for an official announcement regarding the launch on Tuesday, and if you’re planning to be at RootsTech, be sure to look out for us in booth 519.
What can you look forward to at RootsTech??
Well besides the great lineup of speakers and the biggest news coming out of the genealogy industry, you can look forward to a huge 400 square foot booth dedicated to Family.me!
We’ll be there loud and proud demo-ing the latest version of the product, collecting family memories and giving away prizes.
You can also look for us throughout the conference.
Family.me’s product lead, Art, will be leading a product demonstration in the Expo Hall Demo Theater on Thursday the 12 from 1:40 to 2pm.
Family.me co-founder, Harrison Tang will be leading two workshops during the conference:
- “Reimagining the Family Tree” on Wednesday, February 11 (During the Innovator Summit)
- “How to get our family involved in sharing your story” on Saturday February 14 at 10:30 am.
If you’re in town for the conference make sure you swing by! We look forward to seeing you.
We first introduced Family.me to the public at RootsTech in February of 2014. We took our ENTIRE team through the conference in Salt Lake City and shared our ideas for a tree-building, memory-making, family social network.
We were pretty proud of ourselves. We got a lot of compliments and people wanted more!
“We’ll be back,” we promised and we made our way back to our desks in Pasadena to get the app off the ground.
Fast Forward to July. Though we had come a very long way, we had also come up with new ideas and needed more time! We previewed the newest features to thousands of bloggers at Blogher and introduced the #MemoryTree Concept. Again, we got back to our desks with a new launch date and new ideas to implement.
It’s now 2015, and we know you’ve been asking — “Can I start using Family.me yet?”
Without further adieu, we’re so excited to announce that we will officially be launching Family.me to the masses the week of February 9 at RootsTech 2015! Check back for more details soon.
If you were one of the many interested memory makers who signed up for Family.me at RootsTech last year, we’ve got some fun treats in store for you. Be sure to check the email that you signed up with soon for your early invite access and one more surprise.
– the very anxious and very excited Family.me Team
We had a blast at the 2014 Blogher conference in San Jose! Family.me hosted a booth and was able to demo the upcoming product to bloggers interested in documenting and sharing their family memories.
In addition to giving away Family.me “forget-me-not” seed packets, we also invited conference attendees to help us build a collaborative #MemoryTree.
Bloggers each wrote their favorite family memory on a paper leaf and attached it to the 7-foot Family.me tree banner. Check out the memories on Twitter. We picked five winners to receive a variety of gift card prizes. Kudos to @DomesticRebel for taking home the grand prize of a $500 gift card with this tweet.
Tell us in the comments, what’s your favorite family memory??
